During this afternoon course you will learn various monotype processes, creating one off, experimental, colourful images.
We will be exploring manipulating ink on the surface of a plate using brushes and rollers, drawing, painterly marks and printing the plate on damp paper using a press.
The workshop will also cover experimenting with printing several layers of colour and using cut or torn paper stencils to make exciting and unique prints.
About the Tutor
Sally Stephens is an artist educator based in Northamptonshire. She makes prints using etching, drypoint and monoprinting. She studied printmaking at Central St Martins School of Art and completed an MA at Northampton University in 2002. Sally has worked as a freelance workshop provider for over 14 years, working in a variety of settings including schools and projects involving community groups.
Course structure

Participants will be working on A5 plates and printing on A4 paper and will be using water based ink.
