‘Journey Through Lithography’ Talk

In the world of collaborative studio printing there is a long held tradition of the ‘printer’s proof’ - a signed print given to the printer in recognition of their contribution to the work. With reference to examples from her own archive of printer’s proofs, Serena Smith will share and describe diverse approaches to the medium of lithography and a give technical insight into how these particular images were produced.

Prior to joining Leicester Print Workshop and becoming a one of the studio team Serena practiced as a studio printer. Having trained in lithography as Stanley Jones’ assistant, she spent her formative years at Curwen Studio as a collaborative lithographer working alongside artists to produce editions of lithographs for the commercial art market.
