A workshop that is perfect for learning about accessible, economical printmaking. "Gelli" plates are tactile, durable and perfect for using with acrylic paint.
The technique encourages a fun, exploratory and expressive attitude to making images, producing beautiful, colourful unique work. Suitable for ages 6+
Introduction to the course
- Examples of the technique and discussion of themes
- Demonstration showing the various techniques that can be used in Gelli Printing
- Experiment with the different colours and found materials to create a variety of individual Gelli Prints
- Clean down and evaluation
About the Tutor
Ceridwen Williams is an artist and printmaker based in Warwickshire. She trained at Bradford College of Art focusing on Community Projects / Film Studies. She trained as an Occupational Therapist and worked for many years in Community Medicine.
Ceridwen has experimented with a variety of printmaking techniques in addition to drawing, pastel and pencil crayons. She specifically enjoys mark making using a variety of approaches from etching to using up old tubes of paint for Gelli printing.
She finds printmaking to be a wonderful way to produce independent artwork that is fun and easy to clean without using chemicals.
