Monoprinting on Clay

This workshop will involve layering marks made with coloured slips directly onto clay slabs and using monoprinting techniques.
Techniques explored will include Stenciling, Sponging, Scrafitto and Trailing, producing a range of distinctive contrasting marks from which patterns and compositions can be applied to tiles or plates.

About the Tutor
BA Hons Degree in 3D Design from Loughborough College of Art and Design, MA in Ceramic Design at Staffordshire University. I have taught in secondary, further, adult, offender and special education establishments working on both recreational and accredited courses.
I currently have two positions teaching ceramics with the Northampton Adult Learning Service and Working Mens’ College and I have established three studios in which to do so the most recent of which is in a disused shoe factory in the Boot and Shoe Quarter of Northampton where I live.
My ceramic work combines the use of hand made and industrial making and decorating techniques, being nature inspired often working on botanical themes.
