Leicester Print Workshop is proud to support Arts Award, inspiring young people to grow their arts and leadership talents.
What is Arts Award?
Arts Award Discover is an introductory award designed for ages 5 and above. Arts Award Explore is an Entry Level (Entry 3) qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is designed for ages 7 and above.
Inspired by our exhibitions programme, children will have the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award Discover, and:
- Meet an Artist
- Discover or Explore Printmaking
- Create their own prints
- Reflect on their day with family at a mini exhibition at the end of the day
Suitable for children aged 5 - 7 years.
Course Structure
10 am - Welcome into the studio/Introductions
Health and Safety - Fire exits, etc
Settle into Project space/Education space
10.30am - Meet the artists - Theo Miller ‘The New Custodian’ Project and Exhibition.
Talk, questions and Video
11am - Snack/ Drink
11.20am - Printmaking activity - Surface Rubbings/ Letterpress Collage
12.30pm - Lunch - (Lego/play-dough/drawing)
1.15pm - Printmaking Films
Exhibition/talk
1.40pm - Printmaking Activity - Relief Printing
2.45pm - Snack/drink
3.00pm - Preparation for the presentation
3.30pm - Parents/careers arrive to presentation
3.55pm - Feedback/Evaluation
4.00pm - End of Day
About the Tutors
Theo Miller - Studio and Exhibitions worker (part time at LPW), DMU Print Technician, Artists, Freelance Tutor. BA (Hons) in Fine Art, First Aid Trained, Enhanced DBS, Fire Evacuation/Marshall Trained.
Nichola Hingley - Studio Manager, (Part Time) at Leicester Print Workshop, Freelance Tutor, Mother of 3 boys, 8, 6, and 2. BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Arts award Trained, PGCE, First Aid Trained, Enhanced DBS Certificate, Fire Evacuation/Marshall Trained.

Online: You can book online here by credit / debit card or Paypal.
Telephone: You can pay by card over the phone during our opening hours (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm). Call us on 0116 251 4174.
In person: Call in to Leicester Print Workshop during our opening hours (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm) to book and pay by card, cash or cheque.
Pre-course information: We will send you details of how to find us and what to bring with you when we process your booking.
Arts Award Discover certificate: If you would like your child to receive an Arts Award Certificate after completion of the day, please make payment of £5 to Leicester Print Workshop on the day of the course.LPW will notify you when it is ready for collection from the workshop, or can be arranged to be posted to you.
