Develop Your Rebel Printmaking Voice Taster

This session is an online introduction to the course content, ethos and structure for Sue’s longer three-term course Develop Your Rebel Printmaking Voice, which expands the theory and practice of what printmaking can be.

This friendly, informative session includes a practical ‘taster’ for which you will need: 

• A2 / A3 Paper- this could be old ‘reject’ prints or drawings, paper from old notebooks or sketchbooks or cartridge 
• Basic drawing tools- Whatever you have – pencils various/charcoal/crayons/pastel/pens/biros/markers/brushes & ink
• Scissors or craft knife and cutting mat/ ruler / scrap paper for stencils/newspaper/ glue
• Something the ‘print’ with – ink, acrylic or oil paint 

Sue Baker Kenton is a visual artist whose work is rooted in observational drawing. Her images evolve over time in a considered and reflective way, echoed by the processes in which they are rendered: primarily etching and lithography.

Sue is the specialist printmaking tutor for the UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.

Leicester Print Workshop 

Leicester Print Workshop is the regional development centre for printmaking. Established by artists in 1986, we are a registered charity, supported by Arts Council England. Our RIBA award-winning building is situated in Leicester City Centre's Cultural Quarter and is home to a large, well equipped open access Printmaking Studio.

We have over 30 years’ experience of teaching people printmaking. Our programme offers the largest number and broadest range of printmaking courses in the region, with courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced printmakers, delivered by practicing artists and nationally renowned tutors. Participants learn in small and friendly groups in our purpose-designed studio.
