CMYK Screenprinting Weekend

This weekend course covers the CMYK process for screenprinting, which is often used to reproduce photographic images.

It is a four colour separation process (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that builds the image through layers. Basic screenprinting will be covered, in addition to learning how to halftone and separate an image using Photoshop, mixing colours and registration.

This course will be the ideal next step for those who are already screenprinters and those up for a challenge. Taught by Katy, one of our Studio Team, you will learn endless insider tips and tricks to produce excellent and accomplished work.

About the Tutor

Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of Leicester Print Workshop for the last 10 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print and in 2020 Katy became a technician here in the studio. 

Specialising in screenprinting, Katy uses underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.

Leicester Print Workshop 

Leicester Print Workshop is the regional development centre for printmaking. Established by artists in 1986, we are a registered charity, supported by Arts Council England. Our RIBA award-winning building is situated in Leicester City Centre's Cultural Quarter and is home to a large, well equipped open access Printmaking Studio.

We have over 30 years’ experience of teaching people printmaking. Our programme offers the largest number and broadest range of printmaking courses in the region, with courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced printmakers, delivered by practicing artists and nationally renowned tutors. Participants learn in small and friendly groups in our purpose-designed studio.
