Tutor Sumiko Eadon

Over four weeks, you will be introduced to a different intaglio print process – Drypoint, hard ground Etching, soft ground Etching and Aquatint. This builds your skills into the world of the intaglio mark and is a terrific way to both sample this set of techniques and also gives a solid foundation to those who wish to join as a member with this as their main Printmaking focus.

You will learn what intaglio print is, how to make your plates and then print using LPW’s etching presses. There will be full support throughout from the artist tutor - demonstrations, 1-2-1 mentoring, peer to peer feedback and written technique sheets. Where possible, plates will have been prepared by technician/tutor ready for you to get on with your session and maximising time at the press.

This is a fast paced series of workshops that focus on the intaglio mark. Suitable for both beginners and those wishing to refresh themselves in using the etching area at LPW.
