Mini Screenprint for Printmakers aged 12-16

Come and join us for a morning of stencil screenprinting, you will cut paper stencils which can be layered up to create colourful one off screenprints onto paper. 

Course Structure 

During the course we will look at colour, mixing inks, registration and experiment with layering images.

• Cut paper stencils 
• Mix and prepare inks
• Learn how to set up your printing space 
• Learn how to register your image correctly
• Print onto paper and troubleshoot any problems
• Cleaning your screen

About the Tutor

Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of Leicester Print Workshop for the last 10 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print and in 2020 Katy became a technician here in the studio. 

Specialising in screenprinting, Katy uses underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.

Leicester Print Workshop 

Leicester Print Workshop is the regional development centre for printmaking. Established by artists in 1986, we are a registered charity, supported by Arts Council England. Our RIBA award-winning building is situated in Leicester City Centre's Cultural Quarter and is home to a large, well equipped open access Printmaking Studio.

We have over 30 years’ experience of teaching people printmaking. Our programme offers the largest number and broadest range of printmaking courses in the region, with courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced printmakers, delivered by practicing artists and nationally renowned tutors. Participants learn in small and friendly groups in our purpose-designed studio.
